Evolution from loading canopy to warehouse extension
Our client originally purchased a temporary loading canopy for pallet storage. A year down the line however, their business requirements changed, and they now needed a warehouse extension.
Fortunately, our modular structures are designed to evolve with your business’ needs.
We presented the option to enclose their pre-existing 27 x 22.5 x 6m structure with matching single-skin steel cladding and installation of a roller shutter door and essential fire exit points.
Our client was keen to take advantage of our solution having already seen the capability of our team.
The Process
With the structure already in situ and not changing shape or size, the new project did not require additional planning permission. Nevertheless, we conducted an inspection to ensure appropriate safety measures.
Once we had revisited the site in Witham, both parties were confident to proceed with the latest additions.
For our team to complete a transformation from loading canopy to warehouse, the job required retrofitting of extra framework to accept the installation of cladding. Thereafter, we were able to easily install panels, an electric roller door and both single and double fire doors.

Can my building get bigger if I want to add to it further down the line?
It can! Our buildings are built in individual bays meaning they are modular and therefore completely flexible. If in 1 year or 10 you decide you want to make it bigger or smaller, that can be achieved.
Do I need planning permission for a warehouse like this?
If you are planning on having the building up for longer than 28 days then it will most likely need planning permission (but not always!). We Know the world of planning can seem daunting so our approved planning partner can take care of this for you.
